​The Territory Netball Stadium is one of the Northern Territory’s premier indoor sports and events venues, welcoming more than 100,000 visitors annually.

​

Purpose-built and highly adaptable, the Stadium supports everything from grassroots participation and community programs through to elite competition, major sporting events and large-scale cultural showcases. Its versatility and modern facilities have established it as a central hub for sport and events in the Top End.​

​Facilities & Features

​

The Stadium features four indoor courts, with the main Show Court offering tiered seating for up to 2,000 spectators, purpose-designed for major events and broadcast-ready competition.

​

Facilities within the venue include:

​

  • Dedicated players’ entrance for elite and showcase games

  • Spacious public foyer and basement car park with lift access to support accessibility

  • Four change rooms, gym and recovery equipment

  • Media and broadcasting room

  • Highly sought-after function room and an additional meeting room

  • Competition office, umpires’ break room, OT room for player physiotherapy, and medic room

  • Fully air-conditioned throughout, complemented by industrial ceiling fans and modern amenities

Events & Venue Capability

The Territory Netball Stadium hosts a diverse calendar of sporting, community and cultural events throughout the year.

​

Major events hosted at the Stadium have included:

  • Tactile Arts Christmas Fair

  • Harlem Globetrotters

 

Beyond netball, the venue regularly welcomes futsal, volleyball, wheelchair AFL, softball, calisthenics, table tennis, skipping and corporate events — reinforcing its reputation as the Northern Territory’s most versatile indoor venue.​

​Location & Parking

​

Located at 235 Abala Road, Marrara, within the Marrara Sporting Complex, the Stadium is easily accessible from across Darwin and Palmerston. It is situated between the Darwin BMX Track and opposite the Darwin Basketball Stadium, making it easy to locate within the precinct.

​

The Stadium offers approximately 400 parking spaces across outdoor, undercover and basement parking areas. Lift access from the basement car park and accessible ramps into the front foyer provide step-free entry and inclusive access for all patrons.

​

Public transport services operate to and from the precinct, with real-time journey planning available via the NT Bus Tracker app.

Conditions of Entry

​

Entry to the Territory Netball Stadium is subject to the following conditions. By entering the venue, patrons agree to comply with these conditions and any reasonable directions given by venue management or event hirers.

​

Entry & Behaviour

​

  • The right of admission is reserved. Venue management and event hirers may refuse entry to, or remove from, the venue any person whose behaviour is unlawful, offensive, disruptive or unsafe.

  • Patrons who fail to comply with reasonable requests from venue management or authorised personnel may be removed from the venue.

  • Unauthorised access to the arena, court of play or restricted areas is strictly prohibited.

 

Alcohol, Smoking, Vaping & Prohibited Items

​

  • Alcoholic beverages must not be taken into or removed from the venue. It is an offence for minors to purchase or consume alcohol, or for any person to supply alcohol to minors.

  • Smoking and vaping are prohibited in all areas of the venue and its surrounding precincts in accordance with the Tobacco Control Act 2016 (NT). Patrons who fail to comply may be evicted and may be subject to penalties.

  • Items that may cause injury, inconvenience or disruption are not permitted. These may include, but are not limited to:

    • Illegal, controlled or dangerous substances

    • Weapons of any kind

    • Cans, bottles, flares, fireworks or laser pointers

    • Loud hailers, certain musical instruments, flags or flagpoles

 

Venue management reserves the right to determine whether an item is prohibited.

Bags, Searches & Security

​

  • Bags and personal items may be subject to inspection as a condition of entry.

  • Patrons who refuse an inspection or search may be denied entry or removed from the venue.

  • Bags and belongings must be able to fit under the patron’s seat where seating is provided.

 

Attire & Personal Responsibility

​

  • Patrons who are offensively attired, or whose clothing may pose a safety risk, may be refused entry.

  • Umbrellas are permitted in the arena but must not be opened or raised once inside the venue.

  • Patrons attend the venue at their own risk. Neither venue management nor the event hirer is responsible for loss, damage or theft of personal property, or for any injury sustained, except where required by law.

Photography & Recording

​

Patrons acknowledge that their image or likeness may be captured in photographs, video or broadcast footage taken during events or matches and used by venue management or event hirers.

 

Additional Conditions

​

Some events or hirers may impose additional conditions of entry. Where applicable, these will be communicated by the event hirer.

 

Definitions:

 

Manager refers to Netball Northern Territory, which also comprises venue management. Hirer refers to the individual or organisation hiring the venue for an event or match.
